I'M BACK FROM OBS!!!!!!!!!!!! Okay so the bus left from TJ at 7.15 on Monday, 29oct then we wentto punggol jetty and took the OBS boat to camp 1 at Pulau Ubin. The first daywas mostly admin matters and we had some morning games and learned how to pitchour tents and how to belay. Our meals were mostly at the cookhouse:D Oh andkylene and i were the food ICs and sarsa and i were the day ICs for day 3:)Lightsout were at 11pm and we pitched our tents outside the back gate of theOBS camp1. SOO the next day, we only could wake up at 5am. So at 5.55am, we hadflag raising, which was REALLY just standing there and raising the flag,withthe HCI ppl who were also having their camp at the same time as us. Then afterthat, we had morning PT, where we ran like 400m i think, not so sure how long itwas. So on day3, we had to trek back to camp 1 with the heavy bagpackstoo. But before trekking, we had an international coastal clean-up, which wasexclusive to TJ only:D So after we reached back to camp 1, we also had a superfun tunnel game, where we had to find puzzle pieces in this dark tunnel. But wewere provided with 2lightsticks luh. About 29people went in the tunnel. therewas this quote right outside, "Courage is the complement of fear.A manwho is fearless, also cannot be courageous" The game was really super fun andwe had a restriction of 30mins, to find all the pieces. After finding them, wehad to piece them together and read the quote out and arrange ourselvesaccording to bday then we were allowed out of the tunnel. It was srsly like asauna in the tunnel but it was fun, the most fun activity in the whole of OBS ifeel hahas. Then after the game, we had to present our presentation of thecoastal clean-up. It was really funny to watch some groups and i did a ponymount stunt during our skit lol, super scaryyyy but i didn;t fall :D So afterthat was dinner at the cookhouse and bathing! FINALLY:DD then lightsout at 11pmafter day ICs debrief with Jaz with the day ICs for day4 and that was the endof DAY 3.

So, the starting of day 4. was as usual, wake up at 5. Oh yah andi kept waking up at 1.30am for like 4days alr-.- SO day 4 was the first day ofour... SEA EXPEDITION, which would last for 3days, 2nights, one night spent atOBS camp2 and another at Pasir Ris park. Soo day 1 of the sea expedition, Jaztaught us how to kayak and we had 2capsize drills. one was capsizing near shoreand emptying the water from the kayak and another was capsizing in the middleof sea and using another boat to empty the water. I didn't like capsizing causei cannot swim:P ughhh then the sea water kept going up my nose:(( LOL. so wehad to stop the capsizing near shore drill halfway cause there was a cat1 causeit was raining soso heavily. So we played 'i have never..' during the one hourof waiting. After the rain stopped, we went back to finish up the shore capsizedrill and everybody launched their boats and paddled to the middle of sea toattempt another capsize drill. Timothy who was my kayaking partner, and i wereforced to capsize AGAIN cause some people didn't have a partner. It was supertiring and i really hated capsizing but still had to do it anyways hahas.Actually we had to capsize 3times cause the first time, with zhifeng andjoshua, failed cause timothy couldn't get on the boat-.- lol and the whole boatoverturned again so we had to do the long and laborious way to empty the waterin the boat. So while we were doing the drill, everybody slowly drifted tocamp2 unknowingly hahhahas. after all the drills, we then went to camp 2 andset up our tents there for the night. Kylene and i also packed the rations bagfor each pair, which was for lunch the next day.

so, day5, was as usual, rush but it was the most tiringcause we kayaked for 13.5km. from camp2, one big round around ubin and thencrosing the serangoon channel, to pasir ris beach, for camp at night. It wasreally super duper tiring but all of made it eventually, ahead of timesomemore. We set a goal of reaching pasir ris beach by 4pm but we reached at3plus^^ it was fun but really really tiring. it was still satisfying when wereached there though:) And timothy was swearing so much while sitting behind mecause he was super tired too hahahas. After reaching Pasir ris beach, we couldrinse cause bathing wasn't allowed but i still went to bathe anyways:P but ionly bathed after the outdoor cooking.And it was super hard to cook cause theflies kept jumping into the food, even the boiling water. Soo after the cohortbriefing for the expedition the next day, Jaz said he wanted to talk to us. It wasa sad talk luh.. cause he told us about his life story, and he seemed like hewas going to cry while he told us about it. At the start of camp, he alreadysaid he might tell us about his life story and hedid at the almost end of day 5. And cause i finally went to him with my ulcercause it was getting bigger and more painful then he kindda scolded us for nottelling him about our injuries. Cause some people in the watch had abdominalpain and were feeling unwell too. And Jaz also asked us why our group wasn'tworking as well as other groups cause he also saw some people slacking And ohyahhh i srsly can';t understand why so many people cry in OBS. -.-' and ourgroup had this slacker, who always walk super slow and just stone into the airwhile people were rushing for things. We were so rushed that even at one pointi carried 3bagpacks at once cause not everybody helped..Not that i'm complaining but iwas just so freaking tired and angry at that point of time. But oh well, doingmore means learning more.^^And i didn't break under the stress so itsokay.yay^^ But really, Jaz is such a nice instructor. Hewas genuinely concerned for our welfare, like he asked me to find himfor the ulcer cream before we went on our 3day of sea expedition. And he calledme to him on our last day so that he could bandage my leg before we left theisland:) Such a nice guy...with a really sad life story but its all in the pastnow...Oh yah and our tent had the first watch of our night sentry duty thatday. And for the first time, I DIDN'T WAKE UP AT 1.30AM ANYMOREEEEEE:) i thinkthe kayaking for 13.5km was really just so tiring. Somemore, our boat couldn'ttravel straight, blaming timothy who was in chrage of the direction:PP hahahas.

Day6, the last day of sea expedition. we didn't need to travel oneround around ubin so could cut down on the distance, only kayak for 5km:) Butwe kayak abit more cause the navigators couldn't find the opening in the bluebuoys so we went in the wrong direction for awhile. The performance that daywas better too, cause everybody could kayak together and it wasn't as spreadout, unlike the day before:) We all sang songs and were more enthu than the daybefore. yay. :) So after reaching camp 1 in 2.15h, ahead of the approximated 3hto reach, we had to wash the kayak and paddles. After that,there wasa debrief, just like the day before then we had a special outdoorcooking cause it was the last dinner in OBS :"""( and Jaz madeapple crumble for us:) It was really fun and all of us made a card for Jaztoo:DD and we gave it to him the next day, during lunch time.

So day7 which was the last day of OBS, was super sad and manydidn't want to leave. we cleaned up the store stuff and bought shirts from thesouvenir store..and danced stereo hearts for the instructors. and then the boatcame at 3.30pm to take us back to punggol jetty. and that was the end of ourOBS 7day journey.
